Estas herramientas no solo aceleran la confirmaci\u00f3n de diagn\u00f3sticos, sino que tambi\u00e9n nos permiten conocer con exactitud las caracter\u00edsticas y tipos de las lesiones oncol\u00f3gicas, lo que a su vez ayuda a personalizar los tratamientos, mejorando notablemente el pron\u00f3stico para nuestros pacientes\u201d.<\/span><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\"><span style=\"font-size: 20px;\">El salto cualitativo en la capacidad diagn\u00f3stica del Hospital Regional de Antofagasta se debe en gran medida a la inversi\u00f3n en tecnolog\u00eda de vanguardia, tomando en cuenta que se trata de equipos de alto costo y que no es frecuente encontrarlos en centros de salud p\u00fablicos. \u201cAnteriormente, ten\u00edamos que enviar las muestras a Santiago y esperar hasta dos meses por un diagn\u00f3stico o resultado de tipificaci\u00f3n. Ahora, con nuestro equipamiento, somos capaces de entregar resultados en tan solo tres d\u00edas, lo que permite tomar decisiones terap\u00e9uticas de manera inmediata\u201d, destaca Paulina Aguilar, subrayando la importancia de la rapidez en el tratamiento del c\u00e1ncer y lo que representa una atenci\u00f3n temprana en t\u00e9rminos de respuesta y sobrevida.<\/span><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\"><span style=\"font-size: 20px;\">En la actualidad, los distintos equipos de alta tecnolog\u00eda presentes en el centro asistencial permiten confirmar, estratificar y detectar tipos y subtipos de diversos tumores cancer\u00edgenos, como por ejemplo, c\u00e1ncer c\u00e9rvico-uterino, c\u00e1ncer de piel, melanomas, leucemia, linfomas y c\u00e1ncer de colon, entre otras patolog\u00edas oncol\u00f3gicas. Y, no menos importante para los usuarios, el hecho de que esta tecnolog\u00eda est\u00e9 presente en un hospital p\u00fablico, significa un apoyo importante para los pacientes, \u201clos usuarios de FONASA, por ejemplo, reciben estos beneficios sin tener que hacer copagos por esta prestaci\u00f3n\u201d, se\u00f1al\u00f3 la coordinadora del laboratorio de Patolog\u00eda Molecular.<\/span><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\"><span style=\"font-size: 20px;\">El laboratorio de patolog\u00eda molecular emplazado en el Hospital Regional de Antofagasta, est\u00e1 integrado por un equipo de cuatro profesionales altamente cualificados, entre los que destacan Jorge Cifuentes, bioqu\u00edmico; Valentina Paredes e Iv\u00e1n Troncoso, Tecn\u00f3logos M\u00e9dicos y Paulina Aguilar, especializada en morfofisiopatolog\u00eda y citodiagn\u00f3stico. Estos funcionarios se comprometen no solo con la excelencia t\u00e9cnica en sus labores diarias sino tambi\u00e9n con la formaci\u00f3n continua, lo que les permite mantenerse al d\u00eda con los avances m\u00e9dicos para poder entregar mejores prestaciones y procesamiento de muestras a la comunidad de usuarios. \u201cLa capacitaci\u00f3n constante es crucial para nosotros, ya que nuestro objetivo es ofrecer el mejor servicio posible a nuestros pacientes\u201d, afirm\u00f3 Aguilar Araya.<\/span><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\"><span style=\"font-size: 20px;\">Mirando hacia el futuro, el HRA aspira multiplicar sus servicios diagn\u00f3sticos a una gama a\u00fan m\u00e1s amplia de enfermedades, evitando la necesidad de derivar pacientes a otras regiones. Entre los proyectos futuros se incluye la implementaci\u00f3n de t\u00e9cnicas para el recuento de c\u00e9lulas CD4 en pacientes con VIH, lo que demuestra el compromiso del hospital con la mejora continua de la calidad de vida de la comunidad.<\/span><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\"><span style=\"font-size: 20px;\">Por otra parte, el Dr. Hugo Ben\u00edtez record\u00f3 lo que ha sido el progreso del laboratorio durante las \u00faltimas d\u00e9cadas. \u201cEl laboratorio ha sido un anhelo desde el a\u00f1o 2005, cuando partimos con el laboratorio de inmunohistoqu\u00edmica, partimos con 12 anticuerpos y hoy d\u00eda tenemos m\u00e1s de 150 anticuerpos, eso permite reconocer el tipo y las caracter\u00edsticas de cada tumor\u201d, precis\u00f3 Ben\u00edtez.<\/span><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\"><span style=\"font-size: 20px;\">Y \u00bfpor qu\u00e9 es importante tener la capacidad de analizar esa cantidad de anticuerpos?, el m\u00e9dico especialista anatomopat\u00f3logo explica que \u201ceso permite estudios moleculares del ADN de los tumores y de las caracter\u00edsticas de cada tumor, as\u00ed como las caracter\u00edsticas de algunas infecciones como la tuberculosis, el citomegalovirus y el herpes, entre otros\u201d. Esto representa tambi\u00e9n una gran responsabilidad al ser el \u00fanico centro en la macrozona norte con estas capacidades tecnol\u00f3gicas: \u201cEs un orgullo, pero tambi\u00e9n una gran responsabilidad. Estamos dedicados a proporcionar diagn\u00f3sticos precisos y tratamientos efectivos, llevando la esperanza a cada hogar\u201d, finaliz\u00f3
